| Fargo Born June 13th 2008
Fargo is a very handsome and elegant gelding who looks very much like his sire Frestrausch. Likely to mature in the 17h range, he will be a exciting young horse to bring on in the Young Horse Classes. Fargo has three fabulous gaits, very supple and elastic and when he trots off, he simulates the effect of a speed boat, lifting up in the front end. For such a large horse his balance and control in the canter and his ability to be able to move in such small circles while out playing in the field is impressive. Simply put, he is a very cool horse.
His sire, Festrausch had an active competitive career in Germany as a young stallion in the materiale classes. Performance Sales International then purchased the stallion and he was shown by Dr. Ulf Moller to a 4th place finish in the 1999 FEI World Young Horse Championships.
Festrausch's sire, Florestan I, is one of the leading producers of dressage currently in Germany. He was listed #1 on the FN's breeding value rankings for several years in a row. . Florestan has 50 approved sons, many States Premium mares, top auction selling offspring, and ultimately many very successful offspring in dressage. In 2005, three of the six top medals at the World Championships for Young Horses were awarded to Florestan I offspring. Festrausch's dam is the Westphalian mare Candy Girl by the Holsteiner stallion Carprilli (Calypso I-Aldato). As Carprilli's pedigree may suggest, he is equally gifted in producing top quality show jumping horses as well as top dressage talent.
Fargo's dam, Giselle is a Premium mare who has passed her Performance Testing with the ISR/Oldenburg and schools all Second Level movements at home. Giselle is also the dam of Premium filly Sierra, who is listed for sale.
Fargo's Dam Sire, Hilltop Giotto had a very successful dressage career under rider Betsy Steiner. In his debut on the Florida Circuit in 2000 he has several wins and places in Intermediaire I and Prix St. George competitions which secured his place on the USET’s developing horse list. Before excelling at his dressage career Giotto was a successful jumper stallion, highlighting his versatile athletic ability. The rideability that the Florestan lines are known for comes through in the Festrausch offspring. A generous nature and sensible attitude combined with elastic gaits give the rider an excellent feeling under saddle and we would expect the same from Fargo.
