NEW ARRIVAL

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new mare to add to our warmblood breeding program. Sioux is a 8 yr old Dutch Ster mare sired by Zeoliet keur/G.Ramiro Z Pref and out of Louraine Ster by Goodtimes/Nimmerdor. Keep watch to see who we breed her to this spring.

FORREST FLAME makes his debut at Third Level 11/06

We were late getting our entries in for the South East Dressage Championships held at Clarcona, Florida and all they could give us was two Third level, Test 3 classes. Jill and I thought, well we'll give it a go and see how he does. Not expecting any great scores or placings but I guess the little guy had other plans....Forrest and Jill won the class on the Saturday with a 66% and on Sunday he came out ready and willing and again won the class with a 68% both qualifying scores.

Forrest and Jill were High Scoring Third Level Champions for the weekend - Go Jill - Go Forrest!!!

Congratulations to Woodstock and Marcy Freedman

In the late Summer of 2006 Marcy presented 3 yr old Woodstock to the RPSI stallion approvals and we are over joyed to announce that he passed was accepted and Licensed. Woodstock is preparing for his performance testing coming up soon and we will keep you posted on all future developments on this fabulous young stallion. Woodstock is out of our fabulous Ster mare Venezia and by the sire Kennedy/Ferro. He is available for breeding and you can see and read more on Woodstock at: www.owlsroostfarm.com.

FEI Dressage Trainer Jill Hardt Clinic at Trevelyan Farm

Friday June 23rd, 2006 was the premiere of our first ever three-day clinic with FEI dressage trainer Jill Hardt of Plant City, Florida. Jill, who boasts both USDF bronze and silver medals, is an FEI trainer and thriving competitor. Jill currently works to campaign her own horses in the show ring as well as that of several clients’ including Trevelyan Farm’s own New Forest Pony stallion Forrest Flame. Accredited to Jill, Forrest has been announcing his presence with many great success and winnings against the “big horses.” For over 20 years, she has been using imagery and her in-depth knowledge to help riders develop harmony, feel, and an overall partnership with their mounts. With a bachelor’s degree in education, Jill is able to employ a variety of teaching methods to better suite each individual rider.

In attendance at the clinic were riders Christine Mohn riding Wild by Design, a young thoroughbred stallion, Jennifer Eckel riding Winnipeg, a 4th level Westphalian gelding, and Amy Schierenbeck riding Trevelyan Farm-bred Savannah, a beautiful 4 year old mare by Santa Cruz. All three riders worked endlessly towards improvement throughout the weekend, and it was wonderful to see Savannah doing so well under saddle.

In addition, four of our own young ponies in training were added to the roster: Maude, a 6 year old imported New Forest pony mare, and 3 year old New Forest Pony gelding Whizbang (Wicked Courtjester x Hoppenhof’s Jennifer) were ridden by Jessica Feakins. Furthermore, trainer Stacy Wendkos endured lessons on 6 year old New Forest/TB mare Wicked Ellegance ( Wicked Courtjester x Kokomo Daydream), 4 year old New Forest/TB mare Jest Joyous (Wicked Courtjeter x Nicely Naskra), and her own young thouroughbred mount, Auggie. We could not have been happier at the performance and endurance of our young ponies, as their trainability and athleticism increased by day.

Throughout the three day clinic, Jill took all the riders back to basics, working on establishing and maintaining rhythm, relaxation, regularity of gaits, elasticity and suppleness. Furthermore, Jill tweaked each rider’s position into a more correct and effective posture. This consequently had an immediate and pleasing affect on the horses.

Overall, each horse and rider progressed noticeably throughout the three days, and Jill was also able to assign exercises and direction for further training. The clinic turned out to be a success for all, and each horse and rider finished the weekend tired and happy.

WICKED COURTJESTER APPROVED WESER-EMS

We are delighted to report that WICKED COURTJESTER follows Forrest Flame in the approval and licensing process with the Weser-Ems German Riding Pony Registry. We presented Wicked Courtjester July 8th at High Point Hanoverians, Chestertown, MD. Judges introduced him as the "Renowned New Forest Pony Wicked Courtjester"!!! It was my pleasure to able to present him at the young age of 17 years. It never fails to amaze me the dedicated following this pony has and I know, being the ever ready showman, he appreciates it greatly (as we do also).

Wicked will be added to the Stallion Roster for 2007 and the foals out of mares approved Weser-Ems, who are bred to him, will be eligible for full registration papers.

We are pleased to introduce a new mare named Rockette into our broodmare band. Rockette is a 4 year old Oldenburg NA, standing at 15.1h sired by Holsteiner Stallion Reno, whose Grand Sire is Holsteiner Stallion Riverman. Our plans are to breed Rockette to Wicked Courtjester for a 2007 foal that undoubtedly will be able to jump the moon.

Our thanks go to Sagamore Farm and Hilltop Farm in allowing the addition of Rockette to our farm possible.

FORREST FLAME APPROVED WESER-EMS

Forrest Flame attended the inspections at Highlife Farms in Florida, Sunday, June 18th 2006 and was presented to the German Oldenburg Verband for consideration as a pony stallion in their Wesers-Ems Division. We are pleased to announce that he was accepted with terrific scores and comments by the Judges. In particular they praised the "excellent use of hind leg"
This give our breeders yet another registration option with their Forrest foals in addition to the ISR/Oldenburg and ASPR.

Forrest Flame will be on the Wesers-Ems Roster for 2007 and foals out of mares approved will be eligible for full registration.
