The
performance testing for the ponies is carried out over a 30 day
period. They are given scores by the Training Director who in
this case was Helmut Schrant in all aspects of temperament and
character, willingness to work, ability to work, basic gaits,
free jumping, under saddle and cross country. On the final four
days of testing , the horses and ponies are given scores by three
expert judges, these and the scores given by the TD are what makes
up the total result.
Forrest
Flame was clearly a favourite with the crowd at the final four
days of testing which were open to the public. This small but
mighty pony did everything that was asked of him, jumping as high
as the big horses, scoring two 9's and looking like he was enjoying
every minute of it!

In the dressage phase Forrest was able to show his talents and
superb gaits in a First level dressage test.

Cross
country ...this is where he had the best time. We were told in
all his training, he never once refused a fence. Not bad for a
pony who had never jumped under saddle prior to the testing AND
remember, he was only a 3 year old.
